I love the Thunder, Lightning and Sunshine name for this trio. Our own brand of climate change.

although k-state is going to be fun, dangerous and successful, i'm thinking the cats are a year away from where they chase down a conference championship and cfp. sunshine too young, lightning too new, offensive line too inexperienced for that this season, albeit vegas seems to feel otherwise. wvu, isu, and ucf seem undervalued to me.

I feel pretty good about the track record of Riley with the Oline. Although they are inexperienced playing together, the individual parts are actually old and have played quite a bit. If it is Kilty, Leingang, Panzer, Poitier and Willis, that is a veteran group that has played quite a bit of ball. But, many inside the building are saying that Sam Hecht is better than Gillum and so he might be the starter at center.

But this group actually has quite a bit more experience returning than we had entering 2022 when we lost Noah Johnson, Adler, Rivas and Beebe was switching positions. That worked out okay.

The challenge will be for Riley to have them playing in synch when we go to New Orleans in week 2 and play Zona in week 3.

that's my concern, gor, those early season games including oSu. k-state's great teams always had outstanding o'line play from bishop's to ck's and will's champions as well. i hope you're right that they come together quickly. it's not only skill but cohesion that makes them great in the trenches. and that normally takes time together. we'll certainly know early in the season given the schedule setup.

The Cats are at a place where it is more about reload rather than rebuild. This may be the most true on the offensive line where experience and playing together is crucial. We still have a few spots which we can improve via the portal if we can find the right guy. Easton Kilty is one of the few transfers who appears to be ready to step in and start. I am glad he is here, but I think we would have been fine without him.

I was honestly disappointed in last season. The game at Missouri set the tone for letdowns in some crucial spots. At Oklahoma State and the Iowa State game were both head scratchers. Texas simply had better players and we started off in slow motion. The win at KU was probably the high point of the season. I want much more from this staff in 2024. With the weapons we have, playing fast and aggressive could lead to tremendous results. Avery has the it factor that I haven't seen since Ell. This should be a really exciting team and I believe once and for all Kleiman has moved away from ground and pound and we will be very explosive.
