If I saw it right this morning, just some writer dude throwing out some "scoop" he supposedly has about some scenario where KU would be the fourth school in a group with Clemson and whoever else to enter the SEC. Never say never I supposed but these types of rumors seem to happen quite regularly and they are never true, but they sure did get the squawks hopes up.

noteworthy as well, this is a move by missouri state from fcs to fbs football. i find it odd timing. the cost of competition in a sport that's rationalizing itself at the same time, well, i wonder why now? missiouri state wasn't all that in the fcs. their league, "the valley," was/is dominated by 2x national champion south dakota state and north dakota state. msu finished below .500 in conference play last season. but whatever, college sports doesn't have to rational to exist, i guess.

Geez, but once was "amateur athletics" has become *so* muddled into TV revenue, NIL deals, etc. Still a huge K-State fan, but not optimistic about the future of what used to be an "open playing field".
