Re: Cats Just Got Better!!
This team is going to be a load next year. Finlay Ohnstad is 6'1", and Kennedy Taylor is 6'3" so both should help fill the void of Gabby. Playing time will be tough for Lester, if Yoki stays healthy. I could see this being a final four team, again, if Yoki stays healthy. Heck, we beat one of the teams in the final this year and last year, so the potential is there for a final four run. This team was never the same after Yoki's foot injury.

Last year we ran a 4 guard line-up. This year I hope to see 2 big girls playing a lot. One of these 4. Taylor, Maupin, Lester or the freshman, Finley Ohnsted. All are considerably bigger than Gabby.

Agree on the physicality. Glad Yoki is coming back, was not looking forward to watching Maupin try and stop Crooks for the next few years. We need to find another BIG true center soon, because we are outsized down low once Yoki is done.

No way we are getting to the final four unless we have much better guard play. Lots of teams have size, but the teams that do damage can push the ball, spread the floor, penetrate the defense, and have 2-3 players that can consistently knock down open jumpers. South Carolina would have beat our gals by 20-25 pts. Yes, we beat Iowa, but Iowa got better and would have thumped us at the end as well. It's awesome that Lee came back, but Sundell needs a lot of help on the perimeter to be a final 4 squad, imo.Kralicek wrote: ↑April 8th, 2024, 8:35 amThis team is going to be a load next year. sounds like yoki is targeting a conference championship before leaving, not a natty. from her press conference comments this may be the end of her basketball career unless she goes to europe.
