Darren Sproles - Kansas City kid from Olathe North High School - one of the best I have ever seen - is on the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot for the first time. What a player and an even better person.

Sproles is certainly deserving of such an honor. Good luck to him!

A person can be a socialist in a capitalist society, but a person is not allowed to be a capitalist in a socialist society.

Good for Darren Sproles..! I hope he'll make it to Canton. He really deserves it as an all-purpose running back.

A geat Wildcat & NFL player too.

Would he be the first K-Stater to make it?

Yes he would.
Not surprising really that we don’t have someone in the NFL HOF. First off, there aren’t many who make it in.
Then you’d have to consider how many K- State players had long enough NFL careers in put up HOF numbers.
Larry Brown had a nice career with the Redskins but didn’t play long enough. Lynn Dickey and Steve Grogan played long enough but weren’t deemed to be HOF players. Gary Spani was a 9 year tackling machine for the Chiefs but played for them when they sucked. So no playoffs.
Both Lockets have had good careers but not HOF worthy.
Darren Sproles is our best shot and I believe he should be in. He has the numbers just not enough exposure from the playoffs. I hope he makes it.

I should add Clarence Scott, Paul Coffman, Jordy Nelson, and Darren Howard as K-Staters with excellent NFL careers. But there are so few who make it in the HOF.

Surprisingly Jordy only made one pro bowl in 2014. 14 WR are chosen each year. Hard to believe Tyler Lockett has never been selected. He made the pro bowl as a returner his rookie season.

Ran across this old NFL film featuring Dickey and Coffman in a great comeback against the Rams with Kansas boy and KU great Nolan Cromwell. (He should have been a Wildcat) Would have been our first great dual threat.

For all you young guys this is football.

Hey Lander, You know how when you think back to a player that you wonder if they were as good as you remember or is it your memory embellishing how good they were ? Well that clip showed me that yes indeed, Dickey was as good as I remember. And Coffman too. He had great hands. But damn, Dickey throws a nice ball.
