Short Practice Video
Best thing I saw in this was Brown shooting with his elbow under the ball and pointed to the rim.

There's definitely a new learning curve here. I couldn't identify half of the new players yet.

He mentioned it in the CJ online article and if you look at the video of the one shot he took, he has his elbow in a much improved position. Lets hope he is doing similar on all his shots.tmcats wrote:barry changed his shot?

This is an excerpt from that article. The full article is pasted in an earlier thread from a three or four weeks ago.
“I think it was my mechanics, and maybe I just needed to get in the gym more than I was doing, so I just tried to get back in the gym and fix my shot, fix my form, keep my hands up, jump high and stay confident,” Brown said.
Brown, who went 44 for 135 from 3-point range for 33 percent last season, said he hopes a slight alteration to his shooting motion will help him maintain consistency.
“I changed the form of my shot, trying to get my elbow under the ball a little bit more,” he said. “I think it’s paying off right now. I’m just trying to being able to create plays for my teammates and find other ways to impact the game besides scoring. Also working on my defense, too.”

Brown elbow was in and his hands are higher on the shot. The is less wasted movement. Talking about shooting form, Mike McGuirl form is about perfect. One simple movement, really high hands. There has been little talk from the coaches about all the sophomores. Would love to hear about how Sneed, Patrick and Diarra (rs FR) are doing. They could be in position to round out a very good B12 backcourt.
All 4 of the new bigs have good frames for the big 12, that is a positive that really hasn't been noted.

thx for brown story quotes, xtra. somehow, i missed it. barry's shot was pretty quirky last year. hopefully, this is a smooth transition to a better form, a'la wesley iwundu's late redo.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

I watched the one shot in the video again and his form is better but not as good as I would like. For example, left hand is too high on the side of the ball. Still like to see the ball a little more to the right side of his face although the angle on that video may be decieving. Still looks better than last year.tmcats wrote:thx for brown story quotes, xtra. somehow, i missed it. barry's shot was pretty quirky last year. hopefully, this is a smooth transition to a better form, a'la wesley iwundu's late redo.
