I didn't post the jokes -- and would not. However, I did not get all-a-twitter about homelessness after reading them. I smiled and went on.
And, how wrong you are to even suggest that I would do, or have an urge to do, violence to a homeless person.
I have a suspicion that in my long lifetime, I've done more to help the poor -- not the homeless -- than most of the die-hard DeLPS on this board.
I'm done on the subject. Have a good day.
I still suggest you hike to the top of Steptoe Butte and let the panorama of the Palouse engulf you.
Please reread my post. I did not suggest that you would do violence against people who are homeless. I did suggest that making fun of homeless people can led to discrimination against minorities and to others committing the violence. In addition, tolerating and defending the disparagement humor only contributes to the problem.
I have driven past Steptoe Butte many times on my way to Washington State football games. Hiking to the top is on my bucket list, but I am going to wait for warmer weather and for the snow to melt.

Two bats hanging from the roof of a cave.
Bob, remarks, "Is there anything worse than hanging upside-down".
His buddy Bill respnds, "Hanging upside-down with diarrhea."

Why is there something rather than nothing?
