cats finish ooc play with 1-8 southern ...
southern played a tougher schedule to this point in time than k-state with losses baylor, iowa state, miami, purdue, and texas. none of them close. we'll see a lot of the bench tonight, methinks.

31 to 11 with over 7 minutes left in the second quarter. There will be a lot of bench minutes tonight.

Another wipeout, but still good for our younger players to get game experience.
At present the Lady Cats are shooting the 3-ball excellently and their general demeanor is "we've got this."

Ayoka Lee continues stellar play with 20 points, leads No. 12 K-State women in rout of Southern
Lee made 8 of 10 shots, including 1 for 1 from 3-point distance, and made all three of her free throws. She has made 46 of 59 shots (78%) over the past four games and has scored 108 points in that stretch.

Still the original Tulsacat. Just newer.

i suppose it was as good as an intersquad scrimmage but not sure what was learned last night? with all the power conference schools nearby, why these kinds of games get scheduled year-after-year is a mystery to me? one can see by the dreadful attendance that people just aren't going to boat races in a basketball gym.
whatever, it's 12-1 and on to conference play where the torque ramps up and games become exciting and meaningful. i hope fans start attending then. these cats are the talk of the town but not enough to reflect in the octagon just yet. i'm guilty as well.

Miss Lee has the best and softest basketball hands I've ever seen. That is the key to her success. Any pass near her hands is caught and goes down the hatch.
Give kudos to our other players who unselfishly keep feeding Lee the ball.
Lee's outside shooting ability may be the key to her making the WNBA, if she chooses that life-path. Life won't be as easy under the basket in the pros.

The highlight of the night was Lee’s 3. They drew up a set play out of the timeout and she didn’t disappoint. It was the first 3 of her career. The smile on her face was worth the price of admission. Gives future opponents something else to think about.

yoki has also mastered keeping the ball high. she gets a rebound, she never lowers it, just goes right back at the goal. same with incoming passes, up and shoot, never bringing down to allow defenders in. our mbb bigs could learn a lot watching and copying her methods.

And, IMHO, Miss Lee is able to shoot without bringing the ball down because she has such good hands and hand/eye coordination. She is a pure pleasure to watch. Our guards are increasingly skillful at the pinpoint pass to Lee under the hoop.
