pitt state game comments ...
1. nice to see yoki out there, although favoring that leg, she looked close;
2. walker and sanchez are outstanding additions;
3. i can see why sides was so highly rated, girl has game;
4. gabby reminds me so much of wecker, i've said that before;
5. glenns need to contribute more and i'm sure they will;
6. greer looks to have picked up some game;
7. this team is deeper than tuttle creek - getting a rotation won't be easy;
8. outside shooting wasn't there but the lineups were crazy;
9. love the new 'wildcats' threads.
10. this is going to be a fun year watching it unfold.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

This was a good exhibition game. Pitt State's team was athletic and very quick. Good game with everyone getting some playing time and game experience. Should be an enjoyable season.
Man to man defense was not good. Expect we’ll see more zone when the games count. Sanchez needs to be in the starting lineup. Sides will be a solid backup point guard. We are shaky behind Lee inside. Potential is there for a good season.

Definitely agree as to Sanchez. Very nice, soft shot. I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t take Brylee’s starting position soon. And Sides will be the best point guard relief we’ve had for Sundell. Should be a fun season!
I agree about Sanchez taking Brylee’s place. My biggest concern is depth behind Yokie. Greer is still shaky. She gets too sped up and makes mistakes. I realize Lester missed all of last year due to illness, Then she missed a couple weeks of practice with an ankle. Hopefully she will improve a lot. She has the size we need. I think Walker will improve also.

I’m not sure why you were disappointed in Walker from practices because she looked good to me.
When Lee is not in there we can play an entirely different speedier game that will keep opponents on their heels.
My take is this…
Players like Sundell, Gregory, and Sides need to be more aggressive on offense as the season progresses.
Sundell and Gregory especially are players that could score anytime they want given their skill sets.
While we are deep…we can’t have our go to players be reluctant to shoot because we’re waiting for the perfect shot.
Lee is never going to be 100 percent but having her at just 85-90 percent playing 28 minutes a game will still produce big numbers from her.
And Sides is way ahead of what I thought she’d be at this point. Physically she has gained at least 15 pounds of muscle especially in her legs. She is a rhythm shooter so hopefully she won’t be shy when it comes to putting up shots.
We’re going to be very tough to beat at Bramlage if we stay healthy.
It’s the road games that we’ll just have to wait and see because that could be the difference in about 5-7 games and determine if we’re good enough to think about being worthy of any post season hosting of NCAA games.
Regardless this is going to be the most fun to team to watch in about 15 years.

Don’t disagree with anything you said. You are right. We can play a different kind of game with Yokie out. Especially with Sanchez as a stretch 5. Wasn’t being critical of Walker. Maybe I was expecting too much too soon. Also, agree about Sides. She is also very smart.
