for as good as this year's team clearly is, three-point shooting has been abysmal. that was so clear in the wvu game when the cats only took 7 attempts to the errs' 30. when the glenns were freshmen, i thought it would develop into a real strength, but alas. sides looks to have aptitude though.

Kind of looks like DJ a little bit for sure, but I thought DJ was from St. Louis? Who knows though, parents could have moved to Kansas City. She looks like exactly what we need, especially if Yoki comes back. Always felt we were in trouble if the other team had an athletic power forward like Addy Brown at ISU that was versatile and could play inside, in the midrange, and even step out on floor. Gabby just wasn't big enough to handle a lot of those types of players. Looks like a great addition.

Hopefully this girl can be a solid all around player. Lester needs to take a step forward and be versatile at the 4 or 5. Sometimes we just need more heft on the inside.
I like Maupin and Sanchez but they are lacking, especially on defense. Maupin gets beat a lot and both get knocked around by heavier girls. Both need 10 pounds of muscle and/or the ability to hit the 15 foot jumper. Sanchez has a pretty shot but she needs to make them. These 2 need to realize their potential or be replaced by more physical players.
In fairness I will give both of them credit. Maupin made strides this year and had some nice games. Both give good effort and appear to be close to providing much more to the team. I see both as 4s. Sanchez has better handles and can play the 3. Maupin has great length and athleticism and can play the five against the slimmer girls. I just have one question. Where's the beef?

good read on temira poindexter. quite an upgrade from the women that left, it seems anyway. could be quite a lineup next fall with lee, sundell, poindexter, taylor, and sides with walker first off the bench or some such?
