Several hours after knocking off Oklahoma State at home on Wednesday night, Kansas State basketball coach Bruce Weber found himself still awake, staring intently at game film from two losses to Kansas a season ago instead of the box score from the Wildcats' latest win.

The reason? Although the 86-82 win over Oklahoma State certainly felt good — particularly because it came without injured point guard Kamau Stokes — Weber knows his team has bigger problems on the horizon. Namely, Kansas. Matt Tait, Lawrence Journal World

'much more athletic'? um, they may be better ballers but they're not much more athletic. X, diarra and brown are as quick and fast as any j'hawk and wade is at least the equal of "the walker."
Their recruiting classes are light years ahead of ours year after year. I'd say Sneed, Brown, and Wade match up well with them. Not sure about any others. But this is probably the worst KU team in years, so now's our chance.

if there's anything that makes my ass tired it's deciding which team is better based on recruiting service rankings. the depth of that shallow thinking is impossible to measure.

Yeah, it's just absurd to conclude that the team that is 62-7 against us since 1990 may have better athletes year in and year out...how shallow of me.

Line has moved to 12.5.

Even the squawk writers see it much closer.

Match ups.
Azubuke, Lightfoot = Mak, Maw, Love, Stockard, Shadd, Dean Wade
Svi - Dean, Sneed
Vick - Sneed, Wainright
Newman - Diarra, McQuirl
Graham - Brown

Also, chance that their freshman Big man, Sousa gets cleared to play and Self said he will play him if he is cleared.

Can they stop Brown and Dean Wade from taking it to the rim. Can Brown and Dean Wade get their big guy in foul trouble. Can we keep them from running and reduce how many threes they make.

Play without too many turnovers, stay even on the boards and make a few shots and we should be in the game.
