Oumar Ballo to K State, Nope. Didn't even visit.
Oumar Ballo will be visiting Manhattan supposedly around Apple 19.
He has currently ranked 1 or 2 in the portal.
He is a true 7 ft center. We need a strong center as we learned last year with McNair.
I think it is great that Ballo is going to visit.
From what I read he is a good person and would be a good fit for our program.
He is from the west Africa country of Mali.
He has several visits after Manhattan. I hope he enjoys his journey, but he would find a great place in Manhattan to live and play basketball.

When I saw the title thread, I thought he had committed to us.
I am glad we are able to get him to visit, but there will be plenty of competition for him. We'll see. Maybe he will get here and fall in love with Manhattan, K-State and the basketball program.

It seems that transfer candidates can reading social media sites and what to posted on them has some influence in their decisions to come to a program. So here is our opportunity to make a good impression.stlcatfan wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 12:08 pmWhen I saw the title thread, I thought he had committed to us.

Ballo grew up playing soccer and has good footwork and mobility, and seems to me would work well with Tang’s system. He needs coaching to improve free throws

NEWS: Arizona transfer Oumar Ballo, a top-5 player in the portal, has committed to Indiana, he tells @On3sports.
The 7-0 big man averaged 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game this season.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Crap. I do not see the allure of the Big 10 or Indiana.
Need a big man, especially after Colbert left.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
I'm actually not all that upset that he committed before visiting us. I think most of us knew he was a longshot to begin with. The nice thing is that there are still a lot of decent uncommitted centers in the portal -- at least last time I checked.

Well looks like we were used again for leverage.
I can see Ballo's NIL advisor saying if you won't pay this xx$$ amount to use my client's beautiful likeness for marketing, then we will go to Manhattan where they value marketing.
Of course no pay for play here since Ballo is not much more than a bulldozer dink shot artist, rebounder.and rim protector. Atrocious free throw shooter. But hey he is a nice looking man especially in red.
Sarcasm will get you an express ticket to the penalty box.
