Wooga Poplar, X Miami, dad said we are reaching out to his son.
I wonder if this is a sign that Battle may not be committing to us. Still, Poplar would be a nice pickup, if the staff can land him.

Joe Tipton is reporting Battle has officially announced Villanova, Gonzaga and Kansas State is his final choices.

Maybe Tang and staff was playing the game by making Battle think we are willing to move on. Seems kind of fishy that Battle is making this announcement following the report about Poplar. Another place I read that the visits to Villanova and Gonzaga were.done at the request of.his mom

Thanks for the update on his narrowed down choices. It's good to know that we are still in contention. If that is true about Battle's mom, maybe he already let her know that K-State was his choice, but mom wanted him to finish his visits, to be sure.

ETA: Between graduation and the portal, we are down 6 guards from last season. We have four signed on for next year so maybe Poplar would be that sixth guard, assuming Battle is the fifth one.

Texas is one of the schools in the mix for Toppin after he entered the portal a few days ago. On3's Joe Tipton reported on May 2 that the Texas Tech Red Raiders, KANSAS STATE Wildcats, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas are the four schools standing out to Toppin that are pursuing him early in this portal recruitment.

Toppin burst on to the college basketball scene as one of the most talented true freshman in the country. The 6-8 Dallas, TX. native became a starter for the Lobos and made his presence felt with a program-record 12 double-doubles. He led the country in the category for freshman and was a national freshman of the year finalist.

The Mountain West freshman of the year led the league in rebounding (9.1 per game), field goal percentage (.623) and blocks (68).

Lots of talented players entered the portal in the last week. Going to take a month or so to sort it out.

I am going to watch what happens and not worry too much about results til we see them play.
Who knows. Maybe a guy like Baye Fall will be a stud. Maybe Castillo will be a jake Pullen, Angel, Kam stokes type of freshman.
We used to be excited by freshmen rated that high.

i'm following along but not excited one way or the other about this dude or that one. waiting for coach to fill out the roster and then make an assessment as to what the future holds. seems to me he added three nice pieces and lost only one that would have made a major contribution down the road, dai dai, maybe colbert too. mbb now ranks third with my interests behind football, way ahead, and wbb.

Repeat rant - what is this doing academically for the student athletes? What is KSU's APR for MBB?

If Omoruyi chooses some other program, I hope we go hot and heavy after TJ Toppin from UNM.

I’d take Toppin even if they got Omoruyi. He’s very talented. Pretty smooth in the way he plays. But yes, would sure like to get at least one of the two.

I would take Toppin before or instead of Omoruyi. I do not really care if we get him or not.

I am more interested in who they replace Kaluma with.
