Will kiss my butt and share my gravy, Dillon Mitchell is entering the portal from Texas.
Portal Wars is in part about dreaming.
What a catch this kid would be. Not sure how he would fit.

Looks like a replacement for Cam Carter. Hopefully it is an upgrade. Shooting ~40% from 3 point range is the direct equivalent to shooting 60% from 2 point range. You shoot 60% as a team inside the arc, and you will win a lot of ballgames.stlcatfan wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 12:49 pmI was just getting ready to post the same thing. Welcome CJ!

How true and good point. It is interesting to me that a 5☆ coming out of HS and projected to be a one and done to the NBA player, can flame out. Maybe Texas coaches screwed him up. Probably should have red shifted. I can see why college coaches like the portal so they can see how a player is really developing.xtrawildcat wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 5:29 pmHe can not shoot the ball.SCKSCat wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 4:42 pmhttps://www.burntorangenation.com/2024/ ... -longhorns

Listened to a podcast with Voth and Derek Young. Young said that CJ's second half of the season was really good, compared to the first half. Sounds like he figured something out and capitalized on it.Tbonespop wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 5:59 pmLooks like a replacement for Cam Carter. Hopefully it is an upgrade. A person can be a socialist in a capitalist society, but a person is not allowed to be a capitalist in a socialist society.

I think CJ Jones will be an upgrade to Cam in the ball handling department. Backcourts like the KSU Team last year that frequently turn the ball over to the other team without getting a shot off, gives the other side a distinct advantage. Say, if you're getting 10-12 more shots a game as the other team, you only have to make a small percentage that convert to points to win the game (all other things being equal). CJ, along with Ames & Castillo will bring some more stability for the point guard function (CJ had 4.8 assists per game also).Tbonespop wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 5:59 pmLooks like a replacement for Cam Carter. I really like that he is a skilled kid, a lot of the videos that were shown on twitter showed a crafty ball-handler and good in the pick and roll as well as the ability to hit the 3, but he is also big, we could play him along with Dug and Dai Dai and he could guard most 3's.
The only issue I see is constantly getting tripped up when talking about CJ Jones and RJ Jones, but I guess we will just have to figure that out, LOL.
