Reports just out Scott Drew staying at Baylor, not going to Kentucky.
Yep. I know Kelvin Sampson is 68, but that'd be my #1 if I was the Kentucky A.D. Get 6-7 good years out of him and move on. He would have them in the final 4 within 2 years, imo.
If you are Sampson, why leave? Its an interesting job opening to say the least. I was never impressed by Calamari (spelling intentional).

It had a condition that he had to abandon the play hard charts and that was a deal breaker for him.

mindless comments about a coach who actually won championships here always make me chuckle.

I like Weber, it’s just in fun. You have to admit the play hard chart was certainly different. But it was his thing and he stuck by it.

*and lost quite a bit of games too. Gotta admit the good with the bad. It's not like it was all cherries and roses year after year.

My high school coach had a play hard chart (or sort of one) and so did I later on! Certainly didn’t hurt a thing. Probably many do. They just didn’t talk about it in press conferences!

I never could understand why the play hard chart provoked such ridicule. To me, it was a brilliant concept because it would motivate players to give it their all since their effort was being graded. The best high school teacher I ever had was a nun who taught English and literature. She had a point system. If you did your homework by studying a piece of literature and offered commentary on that work, she would award points for that commentary. The better the commentary, the more points awarded. At the end of the grading period, if you accumulated so many points, she would improve your grade in that class. It was always refreshing o see those, who may have struggled with grades, raise their hands and give their opinion as to what point the author was trying to make.

Weber’s play hard chart was ridiculed because he brought the subject up after a hard fought and heartbreaking loss to Kansas. He was defending his players by saying they out hustled and fought KU but the shots just didn’t fall at the right time. I was court-side for the game, and I had the same exact gut-wrenching feeling as Weber. Our guys deserved to win the game but the shots just didn’t fall at the end.
