That kinda sucks, but if he was 255, he wasn't going to be good in that position. Hopefully there is another guy available to help out in that spot. I am pretty sure that the three deep will get some playing time. I don't remember the name of the guy from a while back, but he was a walk-on state wrestling champ and was a beast at the nose. "Short" arms kept him out of the NFL. It would be great to have a guy like that waiting in the wings for his shot.

I believe you are referring to Will Geary. The kid was as strong as an ox and a great run stopper. When we were without him in (I think it was) the Liberty Bowl, the Arkansas RB was able to run up the middle all day on us.spot2180 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 2:41 pmThat kinda sucks, but if he was 255, he wasn't going to be good in that position. I have some ideas for nose tackle. Michael Capria from the O-Line, Gavin Meyers from the linebacker group and one of the bigger defensive ends.
Banks came in here at 265 and needed to gain 20 or 30 pounds but lost 10.

I think the plan is to get Chiddi some interior work, occasionally, at 265 lbs. At least I think I heard Klieman say that. I'd also like to see Camden Beebe on the defensive of the ball at 350 lbs... I saw him play several times in HS and I thought he was better on that side of the ball. Could really clog the middle at that weight. I'm not convinced that won't happen. I think a lot of people expect Cooper #2. Big expectations.

It might do Camden Bebee good to go DLine if he is quick enough. It will be tough for him to be compared to his brother all of the time. On D Line he can be his own man.
Hopefully, he comes into his own no matter where he plays.

I think we are still okay at nose guard. Thank God Uso came back. It sounds like Damion is handling his weight gain better this year and may really challenge Uso. Also, R Freshman Thomaszewski is around 300 and is pretty good. Also the D-Line coaches son is starting to appear on the depth chart and is 320. Maybe this is why Banks hit the road.

as someone who always fought weight gain as a youngster, i chuckle thinking these guys can't gain enough.

I had the same thought. I didn't want to see him go because you can never have too much depth on the DL (IMO), but with the current starters and the young kids coming up, he probably felt he needed to go somewhere where he could start or at least get more playing time.katlander wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 5:02 pmI think we are still okay at nose guard.
