Watching the Chiefs....
I just wanted to watch Felix play. He looks slow. He's always a 1/2 count late getting off the LOS and does not look like he's improved at all.

Luckily he's a first round pick & the Chiefs will not likely give up on him quickly. He's still learning the defense I think, and is not getting a lot of playing time this year. He'll get more reps in next season, and rediscover his "burst" that made him almost unblockable & a definite double-team opponent by the offensive line.

I didn't get to see the game--If Mahomes and Kelce aren't playing, it doesn't pay to get regional coverage, I guess. I heard Felix's name mentioned a few times. I was expecting him to be a bigger factor than he's turned out to be this season. It makes me wonder if he has been injured a bit this season.

i watched a little of the chiefs, mostly south dakota state, but what i saw of felix, well, he couldn't shed a block but did run down a guy from behind. pro ball is boring to me. but with the starters on the bench, not sure how anyone can watch it. i spent the night watching b10 hoops instead.

I normally don't watch the NFL either, but wanted to see Felix, and I agree, he wasn't just slow off the LOS, he also didn't appear to have any pass rushing tools at all. Just a straight bull rush and it wasn't very effective. Not sure why he's struggling so much, but viewing his play with neutral glasses, I was not impressed.

neither he nor deuce vaughn have played much at all this year, wild. if only they'd have stayed their senior years like beebe. dang.wild@nite wrote: ↑January 8th, 2024, 12:07 pmI normally don't watch the NFL either, but wanted to see Felix, and I agree, he wasn't just slow off the LOS, he also didn't appear to have any pass rushing tools at all. Wishful thinking... on Felix & Duece's part. They both believed they were ready for the League right away. But it looks like both will need some development. Duece is probably closer to playing regularly, except he may be in the wrong organization to value his skills (Cowboys).tmcats wrote: ↑January 8th, 2024, 12:42 pmneither he nor deuce vaughn have played much at all this year, wild. if only they'd have stayed their senior years like beebe. dang.wild@nite wrote: ↑January 8th, 2024, 12:07 pmI normally don't watch the NFL either, but wanted to see Felix, and I agree, he wasn't just slow off the LOS, he also didn't appear to have any pass rushing tools at all. In fairness, Felix did lead the team in tackles for loss with 2 and I saw him creating some havoc on a handful of plays. He did look slow off the line now and then and he often just ran straight into the tackle with a bullrush rather than trying to bend the edge, but he did a nice job of bending the edge and got held big time on the Chiefs defensive TD. He was a big reason that Stick ran up the middle and eventually fumbled as Felix was coming hard off the edge and the OT tackled him around the neck.
Felix will be fine if you ask me, he is so young, he has plenty of time to improve his get-offs and his edge skills.

Another Chiefs thing: their game Saturday night is only on Peacock. The team’s cities will still get an over the air broadcast but not the rest of the country. And apparently people are pissed about it. This is a playoff game the NFL sold off.
I thought how streaming helped kill the pac. When it became obvious that their only option for a media rights contract was with a streaming platform, the schools started looking to get out.
