not sure we should count Wesley Watson as one of the 5 going to a P5. He went from scholarship here but not playing to Preferred WalkOn thereWildcatEngineer wrote: ↑January 4th, 2024, 4:16 pm5 of the 16 are going to P4/5 programs with Will Howard still an unknown

Isn't College Station Watson's home? I think it is.

We met Watson and his family at the Big 12 Championship Game last year (2022). They were super excited that he was going to be a Wildcat. But I think you are right - he was from College Station.

Great for Will! Hope he scored the $$ he was looking for. Entering the portal is always a risk. Risk: if you aren't successful, it's your own damn fault.

Former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard tells ESPN that he’s committed to Ohio State. Howard led KState to the Big 12 title in 2022 and gives the Buckeyes one of the most talented and experienced available QBs on the market.
============
Will's Freshman year when he was forced onto the field who would have bet on him winning a Big XII Championship after being pushed down for a NU QB. Then being pushed out a second time for a Kansas freshman phenom. And signing with the Blueblood Ohio State Buckeyes.
Been a hell of a ride.

I really hope KState fans aren't thinking that AJ is going to be better than Will, at least next year. He may be, and that would be great. But, believe me, Big 12 defenses will make AJ work for every inch, and he will need to adjust to defenses quickly.
Will had issues with locking onto receivers. So did Skylar. Hopefully Matt Wells works his magic with AJ.

I don't think it would be wise to insert Avery into Will Howard's offense. He is a much different quarterback than Will. We need an offense which allows him to utilize his talent and expand his game going forward. More movement, athleticism and QB run game is what will set Avery apart.
His runs should utilize his speed and sliding and or getting out of bounds to avoid contact. I like the idea of many receivers, an empty backfield and short passes to create a fast paced attack which keeps defenses on their heels and wears down the pass rush. I think Avery is a quick thinker who will make intuitive decisions that will compliment a fast pace attack.
Hopefully we are not disappointed, but I expect AJ to be to the QB position what Deuce was at running back.
