I'm guessing he's hanging around because 5 million in LoRents is 7 million in other places, economically, and he doesn't have to worry about job security at 60 years old. Not to mention he's got a veteran, high scoring, offense returning. He's nearly guaranteed another bowl game. 3 in a row at KU? Shoot, that's statue worthy!! He's done enough to be safe for a long while. That's probably a good feeling when you're nearing 60. Coaches like him and Klieman earned their stripes. They are probably very satisfied with being where they are. Places that aren't media circuses and hot seat jobs if you don't win 10 games.DeereCatFan wrote: ↑December 27th, 2023, 6:48 pmNever fear K-State fans. The ncaa will step right in and really punish any wrongdoings the beakers do. All they need is a little proof. Some audio tapes or something simple like that .
I wonder why liepold is hanging around. I have confidence either an sec or b1g team will dump a pile of cash to get him. You know those teams can afford it.
So where will the Jaysquawkers. mutant chickens, play next year?

A hot family topic for my purple clan gathering for the holidays is speculating where KU will play while Memorial Stadium is being renovated.
First, we are getting a big chuckle that it just now dawning on the masterminds of man did not think of this.
Rather than regurgitate my family's suggestions, I would like to start a conversation.
I vote using the KS Speedway so all of their 100,000+ fans can watch their top 10 team.

They could use their practice facility (if they have one). Fans could bring their coolers and folding chairs.

Or our old Memorial Stadium. They could set up lawnchairs. They should have plenty of room since they all have skinny butts and can use toddler lawnchairs. Rich KU donors could rent rooms on the north side of the Alumni Center for luxury boxes. You could put a jumbotron in Ahearn and use bleachers. Cheap ass KUers could sit on the grassy hill in the back of Ahearn.

Wouldn't be far to drive to play in Washburn's stadium.

KU would just have Kansas taxpayers (including me) pay for it

i'm just glad we get the squawks in mhk next fall when they will have their best shot ending the streak against what should be a very good state team. home field is worth some points. i'm not sure how many. but it's valuable.
Why is there something rather than nothing?
Just expect some unsportsmanlike penalties on the squaks as per their angry coach persona.
