I think the locker room worries hinge upon concerns that a talented young back may result in other backs leaving. The fact that he is about to commit to his 4th team in around a year suggests he may not stick around. Based on what is known it is unlikely he is going to be happy riding the pine or being a role player, but will expect to play a big part right away and not be happy simply doing what is best for the team. All of these things suggest he could be a disruptive force on the team. Flippers are generally their own worst enemy.bhoovy wrote: ↑April 24th, 2024, 7:02 pm
I guess I don’t get this whole “possibly wrecking the locker room” attitude he’s being attributed with. What has anyone heard in terms of how he was viewed in the CU locker room or as a teammate? I think too many still have their undies in a bind simply because he changed his mind and didn’t come to KSU. Doesn’t make him a bad person or a team wrecker because he changed his mind. Instead of labeling or insinuating he’s that’s let’s let him have the opportunity to prove it himself.
I too wish he’d have stayed with his original choice of KSU, but as an 18 year old kid he changed his mind on a big decision because he thought it might be better for him to go elsewhere. Big whoop. He’s found out CU and uncle Deion wasn’t what he thought. He’s a talent. Rare speed. Good friends with our star QB. I’m all for it if the coaches believe he’s a fit.
The Portal and Will Howard, is he looking for the best opportunity to gain 'NFL status'?

I guess my question would be, why is he leaving Colorado? He says he wants solid QB play and to be used as a true all purpose back? Well, they have a pretty decent QB, and he had what, like 34 catches or something last year to go along with 70 some carries? He publicly stated when he committed to CU that Deion was like a father to him. I also read that the OC at CU recently said Dylan was set to be a huge part of the offense.
So why is he leaving, that is my only question? Now it could be a lot of things. Maybe he doesn't like the school in general. Maybe he doesn't like how Prime runs the program and realizes Prime only cares about you until he can find someone better. Maybe he realizes that Prime cares about Prime and his sons and maybe Dylan isn't quite as loved by Prime as he was led to believe. Who knows.
But I think the question can be asked, is he chasing NIL? If that is the case, I don't see him at KSU. Now, in my opinion, if he wants to get the real money that the NFL can provide, KSU is the perfect spot for him as we have proven we can have great success with smaller backs with a lot of versatility.
But I trust the coaching staff to make the best decision and to run the locker room.

Why is there something rather than nothing?
After much thought and being on the fence with Dylan, let's go get him. He is a former 4* and the 122nd rated prospect by who I deam the most credible, 247 composite. DJ will be really good and Dylan will only make our RB's much better. And he has 3 years left. Hopefully, hopefully, Avery will have better WR's than last year. Although not as good OL should be acceptable. Defense should be ok, not great.
I just hope we rein in Dylan's disparaties.m

Do relationships matter anymore in this portal world?
I think people at K State are assuming Dylan Edwards will come here because of the relationships he has with coaches and with Johnson.
Well he had a 12 year close relationships with Deion Sanders.
There are other teams flocking in to get him, and Edwards is playing this up.
This is about business and what value a program can offer Edwards.
Klieman has his work cut out to get him and the Collective will have to open the vault

According to this story in Heartland sports, KU is not in the running for Dylan Edwards....but A&M is. I am sure they will throw some significant money at him.

Watching PFF last night, comments during the drafting of Ben S , said during his film watching of Ben he noted Howard is a little inconsistent and will probably drive Ohio State fans crazy this season - not my opinion just the messenger here

That's an assumption Will has not improved from last year, which is a big assumption. Will has improved every year. Yes, he has moments during a season where we thought to ourselves WTF Will. And I was glad to get Avery some reps and have Avery push Will. All that said, Will still set some records here at K State. Given the QBs we have had in the last 30 years, one can't deny that he was a really good QB. I expect he will continue his progression and be even better this year at OSU.
