The Blake Shapen Redemption Tour took a big hit in the season opener.

Shapen suffered more than a bruised ego in Baylor’s 42-31 season-opening loss to Texas State on Saturday at McLane Stadium. The redshirt junior quarterback suffered an injury to the MCL in his left leg in the game, head coach Dave Aranda said.

Aranda said that Shapen would get an MRI to evaluate his playing status going forward. “We’ll see what becomes of that,” Aranda said. “He gave it everything he had.”

I really enjoyed that lopsided victory also - not a Brian Kelly fan whatsoever.

Which ranked team is going down next? I'm thinking #9 Clemson is going to tank big time vs. Duke! Blue Devils up 21-7, just had another INT, only about 5:00 minutes left!

They are not a top 25 team. Offensively challenged and their vaunted defense didn’t look so daunting. Cats move up one spot.

Not so fast, my friend. Just wait until the rankings come out tomorrow. I would not at all be surprised if Clemson stays ahead of us, then Duke will jump over us and you must leave room for 'new to the poll' Colorado. LSU will stay ahead of us as well so not surprised if we actually win 45-0 and fall two spots.

You heard it here first.
Win the dang day!

AND it's not like we haven't SEEN it before...

I really don't care that much about rankings. especially this time of the season. BUT, it's fair to say that when starting/relegated to the basement, it's a long, tough climb... there are advantages with starting 'high'.
If you have to be persuaded, reminded, pressured, lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalized...you can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest

Just win.... the rest will take care if itself. I feel like we will have to be 13-0, with a Big 12 championship to get in. Georgia and Bama are getting in, and there will be a love fest with Ohio State, Michigan, and USC or Oregon (even with 1 loss and future Big 10 members), as well as OU or Texas. The only way KState is getting in is by going undefeated, especially after a 1 loss TCU team got boat raced last year. They don't want us in. We gotta go take it.

Current #Cyclones Hunter Dekkers and Jake Remsburg, plus former Cyclone Dodge Sauser (now at Iowa Central) agree to a plea deal. They plead guilty to reduced charges of underage gambling, which carries a fine of $645 (e.g. like a speeding ticket).
