Rodney Velardi was in his 13th season of coaching Atlantic Cape Community College in New Jersey when an opposing coach, Rob Valli of Rowan College Gloucester County, became suspicious of the team's plate discipline.
After the opposing coach asked the umpire to search the player's helmets, earpieces were found inside that allowed their coach to provide "real-time" coaching to the batters.
A centerfield camera was also turned off in the outfield.
This situation is not unlike the Houston Astros cheating scandal from a couple of years ago, where cameras were used to steal signs.
